Eight Arrested During Human Trafficking Enforcement Investigation

For Immediate Release: February 4, 2026
OPD News:

As the Oakland Police Department (OPD) continues our efforts to address human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, investigators conducted a targeted enforcement operation along International Boulevard on February 3, 2026. OPD’s VICE and Commercial Exploitation Unit (VICE/CEU) officers, patrol officers working overtime, and the FBI partnered on the operation.

During last night’s investigation, officers arrested two men, one from Oakland and the other from Hayward, for solicitation of prostitution. Additionally, four Oakland residents, one San Leandro resident, and one San Pablo resident were arrested for loitering with intent to solicit prostitution.

So far this year, 45 men have been arrested during these targeted human trafficking enforcement investigations.

These enforcement actions are part of an ongoing, coordinated initiative focused on reducing human trafficking along the International Boulevard corridor by holding sex buyers accountable, disrupting commercial sexual exploitation, and improving safety in impacted areas.

Through continued enforcement and collaboration with federal partners, OPD remains committed to combating human trafficking and enhancing public safety for Oakland residents.

If you have any information related to human trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation, please contact the Human Trafficking Hotline at (510) 238-2373.
