Super Bowl 60: Preparedness Beyond the End Zone
As Santa Clara County prepares for Super Bowl 60, being held at Levi’s Stadium in the City of Santa Clara on February 8th, emergency management coordination activities remain underway. While there is no specific threat to the Town of Los Altos Hills, increased regional activity can create some predictable ripple effects — think of it as “planned chaos with extra traffic.”
Potential impact on LAH Residents:
- Increased regional traffic and congestion, especially on major travel routes
- Higher demand on public safety and emergency resources across Santa Clara County
- Heightened cybersecurity awareness needs, as large events can attract scams and phishing attempts
- Potential misinformation or unofficial alerts circulating on social media
- Sign up for multi-county emergency alerts to receive regional notifications
- Maintain normal emergency preparedness practices (supplies, communication plans, and situational awareness)
- Continue to rely on official Town and County communication channels ( AlertSCC, and local resident updates on Nixle, and the multi-county alert system set up specifically for the Super Bowl)
Town Staff will be monitoring incidents and participating in all county briefings through the rest of the week and into the day of Superbowl.
