SUMMARY: On February 4, 2026, deputies assigned to the Yucaipa Station Traffic Division were conducting traffic enforcement near the intersection of Oak Glen Road and Chapman Heights Road when a good Samaritan reported observing subjects in a silver vehicle stealing packages from the front porch of a nearby residence.
An area check was conducted and deputies located a silver Toyota RAV4, driving slowly through the neighborhood. A traffic stop was initiated and deputies contacted the driver, Julian Quintana-Acosta, and the front-seat passenger, Jesus Figueroa. During the traffic stop, deputies observed several packages in the rear seat of the vehicle.
Quintana-Acosta was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license and was detained without incident.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located multiple packages that had been recently delivered to several nearby residences, along with drug paraphernalia. Deputies later located the victims and returned the stolen packages to their rightful owners.
Quintana-Acosta and Figueroa were arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center on multiple theft and narcotics-related charges.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department encourages residents to remain vigilant, promptly report suspicious activity, and take preventative measures to reduce the risk of package theft. Residents are encouraged to track deliveries, retrieve packages as soon as possible, utilize secure delivery options when available, and coordinate with neighbors to report suspicious activity. Community awareness and timely reporting continue to play a vital role in maintaining neighborhood safety.
