Boil Water Advisory

BOIL WATER ADVISORY
Due to a loss in pressure while crews repaired a water main break, a boil water advisory will be in place effective immediately for the residents and businesses in the following areas:

  • Edgar Bergen Blvd. between N. East St. and Burke St.
  • Rogers St. from Edgar Bergen Blvd. extending to Parkhurst Dr.
Due to the water pressure reduction within the affected service area, the Michigan Environment, Great Lakes & Energy (EGLE) requires the Village of Decatur (PWSID MI0001750) to notify customers to boil their water before consumption.

Water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled before consumption to ensure the destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil for two minutes. Instead of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from a suitable alternate source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the Village of Decatur will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. The rescind notice will be issued in the same manner as this Boil Water Notice.

The Village of Decatur apologizes for the inconvenience to our customers. If you have questions regarding this matter, you may contact the Village of Decatur at 269-423-6114
