Extreme Cold Warning - Saturday, February 7 through Sunday, February 8, 2026
An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for this weekend, with dangerously cold temperatures and strong winds expected from Saturday into Sunday. Wind chills may drop well below zero, creating hazardous conditions and increasing the risk of frostbite, hypothermia, and potential power outages.
A Code Blue is currently active. Code Blue alerts are issued by Monmouth County when dangerously low temperatures are expected and emergency warming resources are made available. Information on warming locations and cold weather resources is available at https://agency.nixle.com/pub/12174429/.
Residents are urged to limit time outdoors, dress in layers, bring pets indoors, and check on elderly neighbors and others who may be vulnerable to extreme cold. If you see someone in need of shelter due to the cold, please share Code Blue resources or contact local emergency services as appropriate.
