On February 3rd, detectives arrested a 23-year-old woman in connection with shooting inside an apartment building on the 2900 block of Adeline Street that happened in January.
On January 17th at 1:50 am, two female suspects forced their way inside a victim’s 4th floor apartment—armed with a handgun. During the dispute, the suspects followed after the two female victims who had walked into the stairwell on the south side of the building.
Shortly thereafter, the victims returned to the fourth floor by elevator. As the victims were walking to their apartment, the suspects approached the victim’s hallway—leading to another dispute. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at a victim’s head. When the victim pushed the gun away from her face, the suspect backed away from the victim and shot at the victim, missing the victim but striking another person’s apartment.
The suspects then ran out of the building—firing the handgun at the victims again before running down the staircase to the vehicle they strategically staged on Ashby Avenue.
Since that time, detectives have identified Taurieanah Johnson (a 23-year-old woman from Vista, CA) as one of the suspects involved in this incident. On January 23rd, detectives obtained a warrant for the Johnson’s arrest for attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, and robbery.
On February 2nd, Oakland PD arrested Johnson for an unrelated offense.
On February 4th, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged Johnson with PC-459—burglary, PC 25850(a)—carrying a loaded firearm in public, PC 417(a)(2)(B)—displaying a firearm in a threatening manner, as well as several criminal enhancements.
We are thankful that no one was injured during this incident.
