The Amarillo Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating a major crash at the intersection of IH 40 and Paramount Boulevard.
The crash involves a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle. Preliminary information indicates the passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound on the IH 40 frontage road and the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Paramount Boulevard. Review of available video shows both vehicles entered the intersection against a red traffic signal.
The motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet and has sustained life-threatening injuries.
This incident remains under investigation. Additional information will be released at a later time.
