School Safety Night Hockey Game

On Saturday, February 14, the Janesville Police Department and other local first responders will be partnering with the Janesville Jets for a Rock County School Safety Night and hockey game. The game starts at 7:05 pm. The purpose of this event is to enjoy a night out watching a Janesville Jets Hockey game at the new Woodman’s Sports Center while raising funds to replace and supply classroom casualty kits to public and private classrooms. These kits provide staff with the tools needed to immediately address serious injuries during medical emergencies or critical incidents until first responders arrive.
Several local businesses have already contributed through sponsorships and donated several raffle items for the event. During the game, attendees can sponsor a classroom casualty kit by scanning a QR code at the venue. Each kit costs $35, with an overall fundraising goal of $85,000.
The Janesville Jets will also wear special warm-up jerseys designed by students from Parker and Craig High Schools, which will be sold or raffled during the game.
During the evening, School Resource Officers from across Rock County and active threat instructors from the Janesville Police Department, Beloit Police Department, and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office will be recognized. Weather permitting, emergency vehicles will also be on site to allow students and families to interact with first responders.
We hope to see you there! Please don't hesitate to share details with others who may be interested. If you want to get involved or have any questions, please contact Sergeant Jeremy Wiley directly at [email protected].
