On February 8, 2026, at 10:38 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a wrong way driver on US 41 near County Road 100 West. Deputy Levi Sims was in the immediate area and located vehicle while it was still traveling against oncoming northbound US 41 traffic. Upon stopping the vehicle, a Black 2020 Ford Escape Deputy Sims identified the driver as 32-year-old Karen Valencie Olmos of Evansville. After a brief investigation Ms. Olmos was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Detention Center where she was charged with Criminal Recklessness and Operator Never Licensed.
Deputies Wyatt Lashbrook and Bart Wagner responded to this incident. Princeton Officers Logan Lashbrook and Jackie Wood also responded.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
