Wilmington Police arrest New Castle man on drug charges:

Wilmington Police have arrested a New Castle man on drug charges following an investigation.

Members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 900 block of Lombard Street. Through the course of the investigation, Detectives identified 42-year-old Jabar Fields as a suspect.

On February 4th at approximately 3:55 p.m., officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 2900 block of West 4th Street, and took Fields into custody without incident. Subsequently, officers executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Parma Avenue. Officers recovered 18 grams of Powder Cocaine, 91.44 grams of Crack Cocaine, 207 MDMA pills, 260 Alprazolam pills, 36 Oxycodone pills, 9 Amphetamine pills, 27 Suboxone Strips, 36 grams of marijuana, drug packaging material, and $13,145.00 in U.S. currency.

Fields has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver- Tier 3 (Three Counts)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver- Tier 2 (Two Counts)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $240,100 cash-only bail.
