Two Suspects Arrested Linked To A Recent Shooting Incident 
On February 5, 2026, Waterford Police Services (WPS) concluded an investigation into a shooting that occurred in the city on February 2, 2026. The shooting occurred behind the Pioneer Market, 12138 Yosemite Blvd, with no injuries reported. WPS, with the assistance of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), located and arrested two local men in connection with this shooting.
The primary suspect of the shooting was identified as Diego Ochoa an 18-year-old male from Waterford. He was ultimately located and arrested in the City of Modesto, on February 4, 2026.
During a subsequent service of a search warrant at Diego’s residence to recover additional evidence, investigators identified a second suspect, Luis Ochoa, a 21-year-old male also of Waterford. As deputies attempted to detain him, Luis fled the scene, leading Deputies on a vehicle pursuit. Due to safety concerns, the vehicle pursuit was discontinued. Luis was later located and arrested in the City of Turlock. At the conclusion of this investigation, deputies located four firearms, two of which were confirmed stolen.
Diego Ochoa was arrested for assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm and brandishing a firearm. Luis Ochoa was arrested for receiving stolen property, obstruction and evading.
