Burglary Suspect Arrested Following Alert Resident’s Call 
On February 9th, El Cerrito Police officers arrested a burglary suspect after an alert resident reported a trespasser in the 1700 block of Liberty Street.
At 4:25 PM, a homeowner was alerted to activity on their property after an alarm was triggered. The resident reviewed their security camera footage and observed an unknown male inside the yard. The resident promptly contacted police and provided responding officers with a description of the individual.
Officers arrived and located the suspect sitting on the back porch of the residence. Upon contact, officers immediately recognized the individual as the suspect responsible for a residential burglary that occurred on January 25th at 2:36 AM.
Officers arrested Jason Lee Harris, a 41-year-old transient male with ties to El Cerrito. Harris was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department for trespassing, possession of burglary tools, and for the January 25th burglary. After booking, Harris was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
