On February 10, 2026, at approximately 8:32 p.m., Fremont Police Officers responded to the report of a traffic collision involving a Toyota Scion and a pedestrian on Stevenson Boulevard, between Sundale Drive and Blacow Road. Fremont PD, Fremont Fire personnel, and paramedics arrived and began medical aid to the injured pedestrian, who was located down in the roadway. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office later responded to the hospital for the decedent. The driver of the Toyota Scion was not injured and remained at the scene, fully cooperating with the investigation.
The Fremont Police Traffic Unit assumed the collision investigation. The preliminary investigation indicates that the Toyota Scion was traveling westbound on Stevenson Boulevard. The pedestrian attempted to cross midblock, amid heavy vehicle traffic coming from the north side of Stevenson Boulevard, moving southward. The pedestrian was approximately two hundred feet west of the controlled intersection of Sundale Drive. As the pedestrian entered the number two lane of westbound Stevenson Boulevard, a collision occurred with the Toyota Scion. The pedestrian fell to the ground in the number one lane of westbound Stevenson Boulevard, while the driver of the Toyota pulled over to the shoulder of the road. Shortly afterward, a second vehicle collided with the pedestrian. The second vehicle did not stop and continued westbound on Stevenson Boulevard. The identity of the second vehicle and its driver has not yet been identified. The cause of the collision remains under investigation; however, drug or alcohol impairment is not suspected to be a contributing factor.
This is Fremont’s fourth fatal traffic collision in 2026.
