SUMMARY: On Friday, February 6, 2026, at approximately 12:22 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Carlos Duran near E. Broadway Street and Needles Hwy. Duran failed to yield, leading deputies on a pursuit from Needles into Arizona. The vehicle eventually became disabled, at which point Duran and two passengers were detained without incident.
During the investigation, deputies learned that Duran had allegedly refused to allow the two female passengers to exit the vehicle despite their requests to do so. During the pursuit, Duran instructed the females to discard suspected narcotics from the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation, approximately 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine was located along the pursuit route. With the assistance of Mohave County Sheriff's Department, an additional 35 grams of suspected methamphetamine was recovered in a nearby neighborhood.
Further investigation revealed that Duran had an outstanding felony warrant out of Arizona. The two female passengers were released after deputies determined they were victims in the incident.
Carlos Duran was subsequently arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for booking. Duran remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing. This investigation is on going.
