Wilmington Police arrest man in connection to a January shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a January shooting incident.
Members of the Gun Intelligence Unit have been conducting an investigation into a shots fired incident that occurred in the 1100 block of Lombard St. on January 25th, which resulted in a dog being shot. Through the course of the investigation, Detectives identified 44-year-old Stephen Selby as a suspect. On February 10th at approximately 10:11 a.m., Detectives observed Selby in the 1100 block of Lombard Street placing property in his vehicle. Detectives made contact with Selby and as they approached Selby, he dropped a bag and a loaded .9mm handgun fell out of the bag. Selby was taken into custody and the handgun was recovered.
Subsequently, Detectives executed a search warrant in the 1100 block of Lombard Street. Detectives recovered a 380 handgun, 6.6 grams of crack cocaine and 11.6 grams of marijuana.
Selby has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (Four Counts)
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance- Tier 1
