INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Phelan Road / US HWY 395, Hesperia
INVOLVED PARTY (V1): Patrick Ryan Trask, 22-year-old, Resident of Hesperia, Driving a Black, 2005, Buell XB Motorcycle
INVOLVED PARTY (V2): Driver of a Silver, 2006, GMC Sierra Truck
SUMMARY: On February 10, 2026, at approximately 11:48 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Hesperia Station and personnel from San Bernardino County Fire responded to the intersection of Phelan Road and US Highway 395 regarding a traffic collision with unknown injuries.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel located a black 2005 Buell XB motorcycle, and a silver 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck involved in a collision. The motorcycle (Vehicle 1) was driven by Patrick Ryan Trask.
Trask was located unresponsive in the center left turn lane. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene by San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel.
The Hesperia Station’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) responded and assumed the investigation. Preliminary findings, based on evidence located at the scene and witness statements, indicate Trask was traveling westbound in the #1 lane of Phelan Road and V2 was traveling eastbound in the #2 lane of Phelan Road. For reasons still under investigation, Trask lost control of the motorcycle, crossed over the opposing lanes of travel, and entered the path of the GMC pickup truck.
