Key items in this update:

  • City requested that the Court dismiss street cleaning tickets issued Feb. 2 and Feb. 3
  • Overnight snow removal continues tonight, Thursday, Feb. 12 on Adams Street
  • Move vehicles off Adams by 6 p.m. tonight
  • Discounted overnight parking offered from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Street cleaning enforcement has resumed for daytime snow removal

Overnight snow removal on Adams Street tonight

All vehicles parked on Adams Street, between Newark Street and 15th Street, MUST move by 6 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Feb. 12, to allow for overnight snow removal.

Temporary No Parking signs have been posted, and those who do not move their vehicles are subject to ticketing and towing. Overnight snow removal operations on Adams Street are expected to end by 7 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13.

Drivers are advised to anticipate intermittent rolling closures of Adams Street throughout the night. Officers with the Hoboken Police Department will be on site to assist with detours.

Adams Street will re-open on a rolling basis as each block is cleared of snow, allowing cars to park on the street as soon as the block is cleared.

Please be reminded that snow removal involves large equipment, including plows, payloaders, and dump trucks, which will cause noise. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as crews work to clear the parking lanes of snow.

Willow Avenue snow removal scheduled for Sunday night

Hudson County will resume overnight snow removal on Sunday, Feb. 15 on Willow Avenue from Observer Highway to 16th Street. All vehicles parked on Willow Avenue must be moved by 6 p.m. Sunday. Temporary No Parking signs will be posted. Officers with the Hudson County Sheriff's Department will be on site to assist with detours. Removal is anticipated to end by 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 16.

Some snow-removal related street cleaning tickets to be dismissed

Due to resident feedback and weather conditions surrounding snow removal operations earlier this month, and as a one-time courtesy, the City of Hoboken has requested that the Municipal Court dismiss street cleaning parking tickets issued between the morning of Monday, Feb. 2, and the end of day Tuesday, Feb. 3, when street cleaning regulations were in effect. The City fully anticipates the Court will grant this request, and asks residents to be patient, as the process may take some time.

Those who have already paid street cleaning related tickets issued on Feb. 2 and Feb. 3, may contact Hoboken Municipal Court to request a refund by calling (201) 420-2000, extension 1130.

Tickets issued during overnight snow removal operations, or those issued for other parking and/or traffic violations, will NOT be dismissed.

Street cleaning enforcement in effect for daytime plowing

Street cleaning enforcement will continue this week, to allow for plowing operations of curbside parking lanes. Residents are asked to please continue to dig out and move their vehicles so as not to impede plowing. Vehicles that are not moved are subject to ticketing.

Plowing takes significantly longer than the 1-hour window allotted for multiple blocks of street cleaning, so it is unlikely that all blocks will be plowed. The Division of Public Works will return during the next scheduled street cleaning period for each stretch of roadway, to continue plowing operations of the parking lanes.

The full street cleaning schedule can be found online at www.hobokennj.gov/resources/street-cleaning-schedule

Discounted overnight parking available

As a reminder, Resident On-Street Parking Permit holders can park in Municipal Garage B (28 Second St.) and the Midtown Garage (371 Fourth St.) at the discounted overnight rate of $6 between the hours of 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. Please note, garage parking is first come, first served.
