Suspect Arrested in Victorville Attempted Arson Investigation
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 7:50 p.m.
INCIDENT: PC 455(a) – Attempted Arson
LOCATION: 14000 block of Valley Center Drive, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Elijah Alvarez, 20-year-old, Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at approximately 7:50 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station responded to the 14000 block of Valley Center Drive for a report of an attempted arson investigation. Surveillance video showed an unknown adult male attempting to ignite a piece of paper on the northeast side of the building. The subject was unsuccessful in starting a fire and left the area prior to deputies’ arrival.
Through investigative efforts, detectives identified the suspect as Elijah Alvarez. On Friday February 6, 2026, Alvarez was contacted by detectives, during an unrelated incident, in which he was attempting to steal merchandise from a local store. Alvarez was detained and transported to the Victorville Police Department station for questioning. Detectives determined that Alvarez acted alone in the attempted arson and the incident is not connected to the prior arson investigations involving “The Gym.”
Elijah Alvarez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for, PC 455(a) – Attempted Arson.
