Escondido Police Arrest Suspect Who Exposed Himself to Children
ESCONDIDO – On January 14th, 2026, at about 8:30 AM, two minor females were walking to school when they observed a white Chevrolet Volt parked along the curb in the 2200 block of Glen Ridge Road near Orange Glen High School. An adult male seated in the driver’s seat gained the minors’ attention and exposed himself. The incident was reported to school officials, and Escondido Police Department Detectives from the Family Protection Unit immediately initiated an investigation.
On February 2, 2026, at approximately 8:34 a.m., three minor females reported a similar incident involving a white Chevrolet Volt parked in the same area near the school. The adult male driver gained the attention of the minors and exposed himself while seated inside the vehicle. The victims photographed the vehicle and license plate and promptly reported the incident to school officials.
On February 4, 2026, an adult female Escondido resident contacted the Escondido Police Department after seeing social media posts regarding the incidents. She reported that on December 18, 2025, while walking through a parking lot in the 2400 block of East Valley Parkway, a white Chevrolet Volt pulled in front of her and the male driver rolled down his window and exposed himself.
Investigators from the Family Protection Unit, along with School Resource Officers, the Criminal Intelligence Unit, and FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, conducted an extensive investigation that led to the arrest of 49-year-old Escondido resident Hector Santa Maria Toledo. Toledo was later booked at the San Diego Sheriff’s Vista Detention Facility for Penal Code 314(1) – Indecent Exposure and five counts of Penal Code 647.6(a)(1) – Annoying or Molesting a Child Under 18.
The suspect is believed to have committed additional indecent exposure offenses within the City of Escondido. Detectives are seeking additional victims or witnesses and encourage anyone with information to contact the Escondido Police Department at (760) 839-4722 or Detective Moe Santini at (760) 839-4958.
