Winter Weather Advisory
I really hope this is my last one for the year, but this should be a brief advisory. I kept it simple. No jokes on this one. I am thinking that if I ignore it, it will just go away. My dogs are finally seeing a small patch of grass, and I don't have the heart to tell them it's going away. Good news, 40 & 50 degree weather on the horizon.
• Timing:
○ Snow beginning as early as 6:00 PM Sunday.
○ Steadiest snowfall between 8:00 PM Sunday and 2:00 AM Monday.
○ Ending by approximately 7:00 AM Monday morning.
• Olaf Index (Snow): 1
○ Light snowfall accumulations of 1 to 2 inches possible in West Windsor.
○ Highest totals most likely along and north of the I-195 corridor.
○ Snow will be wet and slushy, the kind that sticks to trees and power lines.
○ This is not a major storm, but even a slushy inch can create slippery roads by morning.
○ Should not need to engage the Teenager-Shovel-App.
• Dorothy Index (Wind): 2
○ No significant wind concerns at this time.
○ Minimal blowing snow expected.
• Elsa Index (Ice and Cold): 1
○ No icing expected.
○ This will be an all rain, snow, or rain/snow mix event.
• Lightning McQueen Road Index: 5
○ Slushy accumulations may impact the Monday morning commute.
○ Roads could be slick, especially untreated secondary roads and bridges.
○ Use caution if the pavement is wet. Wet pavement in cold conditions can become slippery quickly.
Forecast Confidence:
○ Medium confidence, approximately 50 to 70 percent.
○ Probability of exceeding 2 inches is low, around 10 to 20 percent.
This is not a significant storm, but residents should be prepared for possible slippery conditions during the morning commute. Luckily, it is a Holiday for some.
If there are any problem areas, I will provide updated road condition information in the morning.
