1. Theft/Resisting Arrest (1733) 1200 Block of East Hammer Lane, Valley Oak District
Officers responded to an area business regarding a shoplifting report. As officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, he resisted arrest. Force was used to take him into custody. The suspect was uninjured. ARRESTED: Gary Kelly, 27, for theft and resisting arrest charges.
2. Carjacking Arrest (1957) 4400 Block of La Cresta Way, Valley Oak District
The male victim, 27, was in the listed area when the suspects approached, brandished a firearm, and took the victim’s vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and the suspects failed to yield, leading Officers on a pursuit. The pursuit ended when the vehicle became disabled. ARRESTED: Josue Penueles, 18, and a 17-year-old male for carjacking and evading.
3. Traffic Fatality (2133) 1900 Block of South El Dorado Street, Seaport District
The male victim, 53, was crossing the street in the listed area when he was struck by a vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
4. Assault/Resisting Arrest (2251) 2800 Block of Angel Drive, Bear Creek District
Officers arrested the suspect for assault in the listed area. While being transported to jail, she became combative and kicked the interior of the patrol unit. Officers placed the suspect in a restraint device to prevent her from injuring herself and damaging the patrol vehicle. ARRESTED: Cecila Brooks, 34, for assault charges.
5. Carjacking (0030) 1600 Block of South Airport Way, Park District
The male victim, 23, was in his vehicle in an area parking lot when the suspect forced his way into the victim’s vehicle and drove away. SUSPECT: Hispanic male adult.
6. Homicide (0410) 2500 Block of E Anita Street, Park District
The female victim, 71, was stabbed by the known suspect. Officers
arrived and took the suspect into custody. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Detectives responded and assumed the investigation.
