This is an update to the February 14, 2026, media release regarding the shooting in the 500 block of Jason.
The male suspect, 28-year-old Christopher Williams, who was hospitalized following the incident, has been released from the hospital.
On February 17, 2026, Williams was booked into the Potter County Corrections Center.
Williams is charged with:
- Six counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
- Endangering a child
- Terroristic Threat
- Assault by Contact – Family Member

Location: 500 block of Jason
On February 14, 2026, at approximately 10:00 PM, Amarillo Police Department officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Jason in reference to a shooting.
Officers located a 28-year-old male suspect suffering from a gunshot wound. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Violent Crimes and Crime Scene Investigation units responded to both the hospital and the scene.
The suspect is charged with:
• Six counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
• Terroristic Threat
• Endangering a Child
• Assault by Contact – Family Member
