Narrative:
|
During the month of October 2025, the Camarillo Community Resource Unit (CRU) developed information regarding illicit marijuana sales to minors within the City of Camarillo. Based on the type of crime, detectives from the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) began assisting the CRU Deputies with the investigation.
During the investigation, detectives identified City of Oxnard resident, (S) Francisco Vega as the suspect responsible for the illicit sales and distribution of marijuana to minors. Detectives authored various search warrants throughout the investigation. As a result, Detectives learned Vega was selling marijuana to minors throughout the County of Ventura and his crimes were not limited to the City of Camarillo. Detectives subsequently developed probable cause to arrest Vega for a felony violation of California Health and Safety Code Section 11361(b) - [Sales of Marijuana to Minors].
During the second week of February 2026, detectives authored a search warrant for Vega’s residence, property, and person. The search warrant was subsequently signed by a magistrate of the Ventura County Superior Court.
On 02/17/2026, at approximately 0700 hours, detectives served the search warrant at Vega’s residence in the 600 Block of E. Yucca Street in the City of Oxnard. During the service of the search warrant, Vega was arrested for the aforementioned charge.
During the search of the residence, detectives located additional evidence indicative of illicit marijuana sales, further linking Vega to the crime.
Vega was later transported and booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
