On 02/12/26 at approximately 2158 hours, deputies assigned to the Moorpark Police Department patrol services responded to a robbery in progress near Los Angeles Avenue and Spring Road, in the city of Moorpark. Deputies arrived on scene and contacted the victim who stated a male subject had battered him and stole his phone. The victim was transported to the hospital due to the injuries he sustained during the incident.                            .


The case was handed over to detectives with the East County Major Crimes Bureau and the Moorpark Special Enforcement Unit, where the investigation continued. With the information collected by deputies on patrol, coupled with utilizing law enforcement databases, detectives were able to identify Nathan Olivares of Fillmore as the individual responsible for those crimes. 
 
On 02/13/2026, deputies from Fillmore and detectives from Moorpark located Olivares in the City of Fillmore. Olivares was arrested for the crimes committed in the city of Moorpark. Olivares was booked for PC 211- Robbery and PC 243(d)- Battery with Serious Bodily Injury. Olivares remains in custody with a bail of $250,000.
