The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating some disturbances to include shots fired calls that occurred in the Burton area on Wednesday afternoon and early Thursday morning in the area of Burton.
Shortly before 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Communications center received a third-party report of shots fired in the area of Charity Dr. in Burton. Deputies responded to the scene and met with the victim who was uninjured. They reported that they were shot at but only their residence was damaged.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2026, Sheriff Deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Capehart Cir. in Burton. Upon arrival deputies met with victims of one residence that was damaged from gun fire.
There were no reported injuries in either of these incidents.
