Needles Man Arrested by Deputies on Felony Fugitive Warrant from Texas
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at approximately 2:05 p.m.
INCIDENT: PC 1551.1- Felony Fugitive Warrant out of TX
LOCATION: 4000 Block of Needles Hwy, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): James Thurman, 37-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department contacted James Thurman during a traffic enforcement stop near the 4000 block of Needles Hwy. During the stop, Thurman was found to have several active Fugitive Warrants out of Tennessee and Texas for multiple charges.
Thurman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for booking. Thurman remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with no bail, while awaiting extradition to Texas.
