On December 19th, 2025, the police department began an investigation in which two vehicles were purchased at Empire Auto Sales in Millstadt with the use of fraudulent cashier’s checks. During the investigation, officers located where they believed the suspects and the vehicles were, which was in St. Louis, Missouri. The Metro East Auto Theft Task Force was contacted and they began an investigation and quickly recovered both vehicles. Upon a completion of the investigation, the case was forwarded to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. On February 5th, the state’s attorney’s office charged the following defendants, Davonte Lamont Weatherford, 29 of St. Louis, MO., & Jameshia Tiara Isaac, 28 of St. Louis, MO., with the following:
Count 1: Forgery; A Class 3 Criminal Felony.
Count 2: Theft Deception Intent $500<$10,000; A Class 3 Criminal Felony.
