Possession Controlled Substance/DUI-Drug/Felony Warrant Arrest
2/11 – 10:44 p.m. – A Millstadt Officer investigated a suspicious vehicle on a parking lot in the 600 block of South Jefferson Street. Upon investigating he found the driver to be in physical control of the vehicle while under the influence of suspected controlled substance. During an investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl. It was also discovered she had two felony drug warrants out for her arrest, one out of Washington County, the other out of Randolph County. She was transported to the jail and the report was forwarded to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. On February 13th, the state’s attorney’s office charged the defendant, Samantha N. Smith age 33 of Belleville, with the following:
Count 1: Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (Fentanyl); A Class 4 Criminal Felony.
Count 2: Driving Under the Influence of Drug; A Class A Criminal Misdemeanor.
