2/17 – 1:40 p.m. – A Millstadt Officer stopped a vehicle that failed to yield to traffic while leaving a parking lot in the 600 block of East Washington Street. Upon investigating, the driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. The driver was taken to the county jail, and the report was forwarded to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. On February 18th the defendant, James W. Hilmes age 51 of Maryville, was charged by the state’s attorney’s office with Possession of Methamphetamine (< than 5 grams); A Class 3 Criminal Felony.
