2/17 – 8:55 p.m. – A Millstadt Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at Washington Street & Jefferson Street. The officer recognized the passenger, and new her to have an outstanding warrant out of St. Clair County for a probation violation on a drug case. The passenger initially lied about her identity to the officer. She was taken into custody and found to be in possession of suspected fentanyl. She was taken to the county jail, and the report was forwarded to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. On February 18th, the state’s attorney’s office charged the defendant, Courtney N. Smith age 29 of Lenzburg, with the following:
Count 1: Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (Fentanyl); A Class 4 Criminal Felony.
Count 2: Obstructing Identification; A Class A Criminal Misdemeanor.
