The Saddle River Police Department is advising residents of an increase in phone scams where callers falsely claim to be from a police or sheriff’s department.
The scammer may tell you that you have a warrant and must report somewhere immediately to resolve it. This is NOT how law enforcement operates.
* DO NOT provide any personal information.
* Do not send money or gift cards.
* Hang up immediately.
