Advisory

Winter Storm Warning in effect, Sunday morning into Monday morning

A winter storm warning is in effect for our region. The forecast is calling for rain to begin Sunday morning, turning into heavy snowfall that could last into Monday morning. Snow accumulation is predicted to be between 6 and 18 inches and could significantly impact Monday morning commutes.

The Department of Public Works is closely monitoring weather conditions and is ready to salt and clear Highland Park’s 31 miles of roadways. Please help them to keep us safe by refraining from parking on the sides of streets with signage that reads "No Parking When Snow Covered." Vehicles parked in violation are subject to being ticketed and towed. More information on the Borough's snow removal protocols can be found here: https://www.hpboro.com/departments/public-works/snow-removal.

Residents should remember to keep sidewalks accessible, clearing a 40 inch path (or at least the width of the sidewalk) within 12 daylight hours after the storm ends. (Commercial areas must be cleared within 6 daylight hours.) Corner properties should keep ADA curb ramps clear to allow access to crosswalks. Residents in need of assistance with shoveling can view the Borough's list of helpers here: https://www.hpboro.com/home/showimage?id=3529&t=639021634891610534
