Winter Storm Alert through Monday, February 23
ATTENTION RESIDENTS: The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch this coming weekend – in effect from Sunday morning (2/22) through Monday afternoon (2/23), with heavy, wet, accumulating snow and high wind gusts forecasted.
Mount Holly Township and our Department of Public Works (DPW) are monitoring conditions closely and are ready to respond to ensure our roadways and essential services remain safe and accessible to residents.
To help ensure that our DPW crews are able to remove snow and ice promptly on our municipally owned roads, we’d ask that all residents please plan to move all vehicles and portable basketball hoops, etc. from the roadway, which allows us to plow effectively.
Similarly, we urge all residents to stay off the roadways during the storm, if possible, and to use extreme care and caution if you need to travel during this weather event.
Likewise, we also would like residents and business owners to be extra careful when shoveling and clearing out walkways, driveways, paths and sidewalks – this particular kind of heavy, wet snow can greatly exacerbate and trigger underlying and pre-existing health conditions.
If you experience a power outage, contact PSE&G at 1-800-436-PSEG (7734) to report it. Also be sure to avoid downed wires and report them immediately, as you should always assume they are still energized.
