Advisory

An Important Message from Middle Township Mayor Chris Leusner

The National Weather Service is forecasting a significant winter storm for our area from Sunday into Monday, with heavy snow, strong winds, and coastal flooding expected. Travel may become very difficult or impossible at times, especially Sunday night into Monday morning, and widespread closures and disruptions are possible. Along the coast and back bays, moderate to potentially major coastal flooding is possible with the Sunday night high tide.

I am asking all residents to prepare now. Avoid unnecessary travel once snow begins and conditions deteriorate, especially Sunday night and Monday morning. If you live in a coastal or low-lying area that typically floods, plan for flooding with Sunday night’s high tide and consider moving vehicles to higher ground in advance. Make sure you have enough medications, food, water, and battery-powered light sources at home in case travel is restricted or there are power outages due to strong winds and heavy snow.

I am also asking all residents to get vehicles off Township streets so that our Public Works personnel can effectively and safely clear the roads during and after the storm. Please keep roads clear for plows and emergency vehicles.

For the latest information, please follow the Middle Township Facebook page, the Middle Township Police Department Facebook page, and local news outlets, and continue to monitor official Township communications as the storm approaches.

Please stay safe Middle Township.
Mayor Chris Leusner
