Weather Advisory: Snowstorm Expected Tomorrow - Monday. Move Vehicles From Roadways - See Important OEM Information Attached
The Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is actively monitoring conditions and continuing preparations in advance of the snowstorm anticipated to begin early tomorrow morning and persist through Monday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, our area is currently forecasted to receive approximately 12 to 18 inches of snowfall, with the heaviest accumulation expected from Sunday evening through Monday morning. As with all weather events, projected snowfall totals and timing remain subject to change.
The Monroe Township Department of Public Works will operate on a continuous, around-the-clock basis to restore roadways to safe and passable conditions as expeditiously as possible. In support of snow removal operations, residents are reminded that all vehicles and garbage receptacles must be removed from roadways in compliance with Monroe Township Ordinances 122-21 and 122-23.
Unnecessary travel during this storm presents a significant risk to public safety. Hazardous roadway conditions may impede emergency response efforts and snow removal operations. Residents are strongly urged to remain off the roadways unless travel is absolutely essential.
Please report all power outages directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS.
