🚨 Snow Storm Arriving Sunday into Monday – Let’s Prepare Together 🚨A major winter storm is expected to impact our area from 4:00 AM Sunday through 6:00 PM Monday (EST).
Forecast Details:
• ❄️ Heavy snow expected
• 📏 Total accumulations between 6 to 9 inches
• 🌬️ Wind gusts up to 40 mph
Our local departments are ready:
• DPW is fully prepared and ready to respond.
• Police Department will have full shift coverage throughout the storm.
• Fire Department volunteers stand ready to respond to any emergency.
• Boonton OEM has planned for all contingencies.
• Garbage collection for Monday is suspended.
Now we’re asking for your cooperation.
🚗 Parking & Road Safety
Please prepare before the snow begins by using municipal parking lots instead of parking on public streets whenever possible.
Our roads are already narrow under normal conditions. Once snow accumulates, they become even tighter. Ask yourself:
If a fire truck needed to get down my street, could it pass safely — and open its side doors to access equipment if needed?
Keeping streets as wide and clear as possible ensures emergency vehicles can respond quickly and safely.
🚫 Emergency No Parking Zones
Emergency no-parking zones will be established on certain streets ahead of the storm. Please observe all posted signage and notifications.
No parking between 10p-6a on municipal roadways throughout Town when there is more than 3inches, and then for 8 hours following the cessation of snow.
Let’s work together as a community to keep everyone safe. Preparation and cooperation make all the difference.
Stay safe and stay warm.
