BLIZZARD WARNING STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED
WINTER STORM PARKING & SNOW REMOVAL NOTICE
Hawthorne Police Department Traffic Bureau
A blizzard warning has been issued, and a State of Emergency will be in effect for the anticipated winter storm beginning Sunday, February 22, 2026 and continuing into Monday, February 23, 2026.
Heavy snowfall, strong winds, and hazardous travel conditions are expected. Essential Borough personnel, including the Department of Public Works and emergency services, will be actively engaged in storm response and snow removal operations.
Residents are respectfully requested to make every effort to remove vehicles from Borough roadways during this time. Keeping vehicles off the streets allows the Department of Public Works to plow curb to curb, improves roadway conditions more efficiently, and ensures that police, fire, and EMS units can access streets without delay. Your cooperation significantly reduces the need for repeated snow removal operations and enhances overall public safety.
Temporary Overnight Parking
Beginning Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 3:00 PM, overnight parking will be permitted at the following school properties:
Washington School
Roosevelt School
Lincoln Middle School
Vehicles parked on school property must not block entrances, exits, or driveways. All vehicles must be removed no later than Monday, February 23, 2026 at 1:00 PM.
