Snowstorm Update - Monroe Twp. Library & Recreation Center Will Be CLOSED Sunday - Please Move Vehicles Off Roadways
The Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM) continues to closely monitor weather conditions and prepare for the anticipated snowstorm expected to begin early tomorrow morning and continue through Monday afternoon. In the interest of public safety and because of the declared state of emergency, the Monroe Township Library and Recreation Center will be CLOSED on Sunday, February 22nd.
The National Weather Service is currently forecasting snowfall totals in excess of 12 inches for our area, with the heaviest snowfall anticipated from Sunday evening through Monday morning. As with all weather events, projected snowfall amounts and timing remain subject to change.
The Monroe Township Department of Public Works will operate on a continuous, around-the-clock schedule to restore roadways to safe and passable conditions as efficiently as possible. To facilitate snow removal efforts, residents are reminded that all vehicles and garbage containers must be removed from roadways in accordance with Monroe Township Ordinances 122-21 and 122-23.
Unnecessary travel during this storm presents a significant risk to public safety. Hazardous road conditions may substantially delay emergency response and snow removal operations. Residents are strongly urged to remain off roadways unless travel is absolutely essential.
Please report all power outages directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS.
