Assault with Deadly Weapon Arrest
On February 21, 2026, at approximately 2:04 PM, Simi Valley Police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon near the railroad tracks beneath the Madera Road overpass. Officers located an adult male victim who had been struck in the face with a chain and lock following a verbal dispute.
A perimeter was established, and officers began searching the area for the suspect. An unrelated subject was contacted by police and arrested for an outstanding local warrant. A short time later, the suspect of interest was subsequently contacted and arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. The suspect was identified as 29-year-old William Alvarez Lopez, a transient of Simi Valley, and was booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Pre-Trial Detention Facility for felony 245(a)(1) PC and local outstanding warrants.
