DUI Arrest Following Head-On Collision 
On 02/21/26 at 2028 hours, Officers responded to a head-on traffic collision at the intersection of Elm street and Donovan Rd. The investigation determined that Vehicle 1 was traveling eastbound on Donovan Rd when the driver suddenly swerved into the westbound lane, crossing into uncoming traffic and colliding head-on with vehicle 2, which was traveling westbound.
Minor injuries were reported medical assistance was offered at the scene. The driver of Vehicle 1 was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to Santa Barbara County Sheriff's North County Jail.
On this evening, officers removed several impaired drivers from our city streets, arresting them for DUI.
Driving under the influence puts everyone at risk, and enforcement efforts will continue.
