A significant winter storm is expected through Monday with heavy snow, strong winds, coastal flooding, and hazardous travel. Governor Sherrill has declared a State of Emergency effective at noon today.

Preparedness Actions:
• Move vehicles from flood-prone areas.
• Keep vehicles off roadways so plows can operate.
• If you must park on a street due to flooding, email [email protected] with your name, address, vehicle info, and phone number so we can coordinate.
• Secure loose outdoor items.
• Run generators outdoors only, away from doors/windows.
• Check heat and protect pipes from freezing.
• Have food, water, medications, and supplies for several days.
• Stay off roads during the storm unless absolutely necessary.
• Check on elderly neighbors and those needing assistance.
