Roselle Snow Emergency No Parking Alert: Boro Ord: 523-134 - Union County Roadways


Pursuant to the provisions of § 523-53, no person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof listed below whenever snow has fallen, and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway:

A. 
Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, no vehicle shall be parked on either side of any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XXV (§ 523-134), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
B. 
The above parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic.
C. 
In the event of an emergency, the Chief of Police shall have the authority to close a street to traffic.
D. 
Any violations of this provision are subject to the penalties as set forth in § 523-4.

Third Avenue North Between Locust Street and Chestnut Street
Wood Avenue East Between State Highway Route 27 and Raritan Road

Instructions:

Vehicles parked on Union County Roadways must be removed when roads are snow-covered. This assists DPW for snow removal to the curbline and emergency vehicle operation. Vehicles not in compliance are subject to impound. Use the driveway or yard. Ask a neighbor for assistance.
Homeowners are asked to shovel out fire hydrants located in front of homes.
