Advisory
Governor Sherrill has declared a STATE OF EMERGENCY for New Jersey. We need everyone’s cooperation to keep our roads clear and our community safe. Please follow these critical safety mandates:
ROADWAYS & SNOW REMOVAL
STAY OFF THE ROADS: Travel is only permitted for absolute emergencies. Visibility will drop to near zero once the snow starts.
MOVE YOUR VEHICLES: All cars must be removed from township streets immediately. This is vital for our DPW plows to clear the way for emergency vehicles.
PLOWING INQUIRIES: Please DO NOT call the Police Department with questions regarding snow plowing. * Direct all plowing inquiries to the Department of Public Works (DPW) at 732-451-4060.
AVOID TREES: Do not park under trees. Heavy snow and high winds make falling limbs a major hazard.
FLOOD-PRONE AREAS: If you live in a low-lying area, move your vehicles to higher ground now.
TRASH & RECYCLING UPDATE
COLLECTION POSTPONED: Brick Township DPW has announced that garbage and recycling collection for Monday, February 23, has been postponed. Please do not place cans at the curb, as they interfere with plowing operations and can be blown into the roadway.
PROPERTY & POWER OUTAGES
POWER PREP: We anticipate outages. Charge your phones and electronics now.
JCP&L UPDATE: Expect significant delays in restoration. JCP&L crews will not be out working during active blizzard conditions for their own safety.
EMERGENCY CONTACTS
STAY TUNED: We will be posting another update later today with further information regarding storm operations.
Winter Storm Alert
The weather transition is beginning. While we are currently seeing rain, meteorologists confirm a rapid switch to full blizzard conditions is imminent today, Sunday, February 22.
