Advisory

State of Emergency and Snow Emergency in Town of Yorktown. Parking on roadways is prohibited after 6pm Sunday through 6pm Monday 2/23/26.

National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for Westchester County.  Westchester County has just declared a complete road ban beginning tonight at 9pm through 10am Monday, February 23, 2026.  Roads are closed to all but essential travel (police, fire, EMS, utility/public works and hospital/medical personnel).  Travel conditions are expected to be treacherous to impossible, especially in the overnight hours.  Locally, the Town of Yorktown has declared a local Snow Emergency, which bans parking on town roadways after 6pm, 2/22/26 through 2/23/26 6pm.  The Town of Yorktown State of Emergency will now be similar to the travel ban declared by Westchester County.

To report downed wires, hazardous conditions, and non-life threatening issues, contact (914) 962-4141.  Treat all downed wires as live and be mindful that electric current can energized fixed objects that are not in the immediate area of the outage.  There is still time to prepare to ride this storm out, so please make any last minute preparations at this time.  Now is also a good time to check on neighbors who are alone and/or physically challenged, to see if they require any assistance.

Stay safe!
