Message from Monroe Twp. Mayor Stephen Dalina:
“As you are all aware, the forecast for this storm predicts more significant snowfall than we have experienced in many years. This coincides with potential high winds and blizzard conditions. The State of New Jersey has declared a state of emergency. Please carefully follow all warnings and instructions from our Office of Emergency Management over the next two days. Stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. Check on your neighbors and provide assistance if possible. We will continue to provide updates throughout the storm. Stay safe”.
The winter storm is currently underway, and snowfall is expected to intensify over the next several hours. Residents are strongly urged to remain off the roadways to allow the Township Department of Public Works to safely and efficiently conduct snow removal and salting operations.
The Monroe Township Department of Public Works will operate continuously around the clock to restore roadways to safe and passable conditions as quickly as possible. To assist with snow removal operations, residents are reminded that all vehicles and garbage containers must be removed from roadways in accordance with Monroe Township Ordinances 122-21 and 122-23.
Unnecessary travel during this storm poses a significant risk to public safety. Hazardous road conditions may substantially delay emergency response and snow removal efforts. Residents are strongly encouraged to avoid travel unless it is absolutely essential.
