WINTER STORM WARNING – HEAVY SNOW & HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS

South Brunswick Township is expected to experience a significant winter storm beginning this afternoon and continuing through Monday.

TIMELINE:

  • Rain will transition to wet snow by mid–late afternoon.
  • Snow becomes heavy this evening, especially between 8 PM – 10 PM through early Monday morning.
  • Snow tapers off Monday afternoon, ending between 3 PM – 6 PM.

SNOWFALL:

  • Total accumulation expected: 12–18 inches
  • Periods of 1–2 inches per hour, with localized heavier bands possible.

IMPACTS:

  • Roads will become snow-covered and hazardous this evening.
  • Visibility will be significantly reduced during heavy snowfall.
  • Strong winds (gusts 40–45 mph) may create blizzard-like conditions.
  • Risk of downed trees and power outages due to heavy, wet snow.
  • Temperatures dropping below freezing will create icy and slick conditions overnight.
