As we continue to navigate this significant winter storm, the Brick Township Police Department is providing the following critical updates. Conditions remain hazardous, and we ask for your continued cooperation to ensure the safety of our community and first responders.
⚠️ Travel Ban Still In Effect
A mandatory travel ban remains in effect for all of Brick Township.
Stay off the roads: All non-essential vehicles must remain off state, county, and municipal roadways.
Keeping the roads clear is vital to allow our snow removal crews and emergency vehicles to operate safely and efficiently.
Do not attempt to travel until the ban has been officially lifted.
💡 Power Outage Information
We are currently monitoring reports that approximately 10,000 residents in our area are without power.
Restoration Estimates: JCP&L will begin providing estimated times of restoration (ETAs) this morning. However, as the storm is still active, please prepare to be without power for an extended period.
DO NOT contact Police Dispatch to report power outages. Our dispatchers must keep lines open for life-safety emergencies.

🚜 Plowing Operations
DPW plowing operations are active and ongoing. Our crews are working around the clock to clear the township’s 780+ miles of roadway.
Please DO NOT call Police Dispatch with inquiries about when your street will be plowed.
Report Unplowed Streets: If your street has been missed after the storm has fully subsided, please use the official Township Website to report it:

❄️ Snow Removal Safety Tips
If you are heading out to clear your property, please keep these safety tips in mind:
Lift with Your Legs: Avoid back strain by keeping the shovel close to your body and bending at your knees. Push the snow whenever possible rather than lifting.
Clear Snow Blower Jams Safely: Never use your hands to clear a clog, even if the machine is off. Use a clearing tool or a wooden handle to dislodge snow.
Pace Yourself: Cold air and heavy exertion put significant stress on the heart. Take frequent breaks. If you feel chest pain or shortness of breath, stop immediately and seek medical attention.
