Winter Storm Snow Clearing Operations in Progress - Please Stay Off The Roadways
As the snowstorm enters its final stages, the Monroe Township Department of Public Works will continue snow plowing and salting operations on all township roadways throughout the day and overnight. Residents are reminded to remove all vehicles from roadways to ensure snow removal operations can proceed safely and efficiently. Residents are also strongly urged to avoid all non-essential travel, as roadway conditions remain hazardous.
The following roadways are currently closed due to downed trees and utility wires:
- Federal Road – Closed between Applegarth Road and Perrineville Road.
- Gravel Hill–Spotswood Road – Closed between Gravel Hill Road and Monroe Boulevard.
- Monroe Boulevard – Closed between Federal Road and Gravel Hill–Spotswood Road.
- Schoolhouse Road – Closed between Perrineville Road and Buckelew Avenue. (Residences on Nathanial Street, Forman Avenue, and Majestic Woods Drive remain accessible from the Perrineville Road side of the closure.)
The traffic signal at the intersection of Spotswood Englishtown Road and Texas Road is currently inoperative.
JCP&L is reporting that approximately 462 residences in Monroe Township are without power at this time. Utility crews have been notified and are working to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
Residents are reminded not to blow or shovel snow into the roadway, as this creates hazardous conditions and interferes with ongoing snow removal operations.
In the event of an emergency, please dial 911. For non-emergency police matters, contact the Monroe Township Police Department at 732-521-0222.
All power outages should be reported directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS.
