โ๏ธ WINTER STORM UPDATE:
Good evening, Brick Township. As of this evening, the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has officially closed, and we are transitioning fully into the recovery phase. Our township remains active and coordinated as we work to restore all services.
Please see the following updates regarding road clearing, utility assistance, and safety for tomorrow,
Tuesday, February 24.
๐ OVERNIGHT ROAD OPERATIONS
Our DPW crews, supported by outside contractors, will be working through the night in a massive effort to ensure our roads are clear and safe for travl.
Plowing Requests: If your street still needs attention, please report it online via the Brick Township DPW website. Brick Township, NJ https://share.google/LSsUEBCoJ3H8scASK
Give Them Space: Please continue to stay off the roads tonight to allow our heavy equipment operators the room they need to work.
๐๏ธ TUESDAY CLOSURES & SERVICES
Town Hall & Schools: Both remain CLOSED tomorrow, February 24.
Sanitation: No trash or recycling collection tomorrow.
๐ง FREE WATER & ICE: For residents still without power, JCP&L will be at the ShopRite of Brick tomorrow providing free water and ice. Please check the JCP&L Website for specific distribution times.
๐ POWER & UTILITIES
JCP&L crews are working in full force throughout the night to restore electricity.
Reporting: Please do not call Police HQ for power updates. Report outages and monitor restoration status at FirstEnergy Storm Center NJ https://share.google/rQPZ5msROm1aS5DAV
Intersections: Treat all dark traffic signals as Four-Way Stops. ๐
๐งค SHOVELING & SNOWBLOWING SAFETY
As you clear your driveways and sidewalks, please keep these tips in mind:
Listen to Your Body: Take frequent breaks. Shoveling is strenuous; if you feel chest pain or shortness of breath, stop immediately.
Clear the Chute Safely: Never use your hands to clear a clog in a snowblower. Always use a tool or a wooden handle to clear the chute, even when the machine is off.
โ ๏ธ A SPECIAL NOTE FOR FAMILIES
No Snow Igloos: We want the kids to have fun, but please do not allow them to tunnel into large snow embankments. These mounds are unstable, can collapse without warning, and are often located near active plow routes.
We thank you for your resilience and for looking out for your neighbors. We are working hard to return the Township to normal operations as quickly as possible.
Stay warm and stay safe!
