❄️ WINTER STORM UPDATE: Brick Township Police Department

United in Service, Stronger Together

We want to thank our residents for their cooperation and for following all weather safety warnings. A community that works together, regardless of the conditions, is a stronger township.
Our deepest thanks also go out to the dedicated teams who have been on the front lines since the first flake fell:

Brick Township DPW, who have been working around the clock since Saturday evening to clear our streets, alongside the Ocean County Road Department and State Road Department.

All First Responders who have been actively out on the roads in these brutal conditions, directly aiding residents and answering the call for help.

Brick Township OEM, First Aid, Fire Departments, and our Police Officers who staffed the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for 24 straight hours.

JCP&L and all outside contractors for their diligent work in restoring power during these ongoing cleanup operations.

Safety & Roadway Updates

Town Hall: Brick Township Town Hall is CLOSED today, Tuesday, February 24th.

Roadway ALERT: Please use the utmost caution while driving. The  Road Departments are still actively clearing the roadway, and travel lanes may suddenly merge into a single lane. Stay alert for workers, equipment, and snow banks.

Salting & Plowing: DPW crews will begin salting operations today. Please give plow and salt trucks plenty of space to work.

Note: Snow only stopped less than 24 hours ago. If your street still needs plowing, please use the Township DPW Website to report it.

Downed Wires: We still have a significant number of low-hanging or downed wires. Officers are posted near many of them. Treat all downed power lines as LIVE. Never drive over or under them.

Power Outages: If your power is still out, please contact JCP&L via phone or their website for the most up-to-date status reports. Link: https://outages-nj.firstenergycorp.com/

Snow Drifts: High snow drifts are creating hazards and blocking lines of sight at intersections and plazas. Use extreme caution when entering or leaving various streets.

Sidewalks: Residents are reminded to clear snow from their sidewalks to ensure safe passage for neighbors and pedestrians.

Vehicles: It is New Jersey Law you must clear all snow and ice from your roof, hood, and trunk before entering the roadway. 🚔
